Approximately 680 km from Kolkata, Gangtok offers a unique blend of modern Himalayan lifestyle and ancient Tibetan Buddhist culture.

The journey from Kolkata to Gangtok is a marathon across the diverse geography of Eastern India. The first leg from Kolkata to Siliguri follows the NH12 corridor across the Bengal plains, crossing the massive Farakka Barrage. Crossing the Coronation Bridge area provides stunning photo opportunities. The route enters Sikkim at the Rangpo border checkpost, where mandatory vehicle entry and state tax formalities are managed. The final 40 km climb from Rangpo to Gangtok is through lush green mountains, cascading waterfalls, and small mountain hamlets.
